Interview with Content Creation and Publishing Associate Director Pierre Tartaix.

 

Q1: What inspired Park Beyond and how does it stand out in the management genre?

So Park Beyond is a very different park management game because it relies on the over-the-top concept of Imposification, which means players are able to create new and completely crazy versions of existing things.



So their shops, their entertainers, rides and of course roller coasters can become so much more than what you can have in real life.
That's the overall idea. That's the one that drives all the concept of Park beyond.



It both gives something very interesting visually for the players, but also brings new management options for anybody who likes this kind of management games.


 

Q2: What features make Park Beyond a unique gaming experience?


Right on top of the Impossification, which is one of the main USP of the game, we do have a solo campaign, and I don't mean a bunch of missions where you have to fulfill an objective.
We do have a complete campaign with stories, characters and even a villain trying to take over the park to create parking lots.

 

That's a very different experience from most management games.


 

Q3 : What role does user feedback play in shaping the development and updates of Park Beyond?

User feedback is huge for us. It's been huge from the beginning, from all the comments we had in the pre launch campaign, to the beta, to the close beta, finally to the final game, we do read absolutely everything our users have to say about the game.


The good, the bad, the ugly, we take it all, we analyze that and we make the game better thanks to that.

So user support, user comments are essential to the way we develop the game. And my message to the community is, if you have anything to say, please say it, word it on Steam, on Reddit, on Twitter, no matter where we will find it and we will make the game better thanks to that.


 

Q4: Can you share any interesting anecdotes from the development process of Park Beyond?

In the intro sequence there's a cutscene with a bunch of books. All the books are based on a joke on some kind of programming languages.


So I encourage all the community members out there to really have a look at this cutscene and try to find the Easter eggs.

 

Q5: What can player look forward to in terms of future Park Beyond updates?

We've got a lot of cool content coming up for Park Beyond. After the few patches we already rolled out, we have patch 2.0 coming end of September, fixing an array of new things, including performance improvements and user visitor flow.


But we also have a lot of new content coming to the game. And the first DLC from the season pass is coming as well on September 29th, called Beyond eXtreme.


This is coming with up to 250 scenery items, new rides, new modules, and a story campaign with Blaize in the 90s, creating some crazy adventures and being cloned.
There's a lot more content coming after that, free and paid, that we will unveil in the coming weeks.


 

Q6: How did you integrate user-generated content in Park Beyond?

From the beginning of the development, we wanted players to be able to share their creations.


Creativity is at the heart of the game and we want parks, scenery items, or even full ride to be shareable in the community.


We are rolling out end of September the new platform powered by mod.io, allowing all players to share their creation across all platforms.


And this is backward compatible with everything that has been created so far, so keep on creating, as the end of September, you'll be able to share that.

 

Q7: What are your aspirations for the game’s future?

Park Beyond is getting massively improved. It's getting a patch 2.0, it's getting user-generated content, it's getting its first DLC, there's going to be many more, so it is the best time to play Park Beyond.


For anybody who hasn't been returning to Park Beyond since launch, now is the best moment to do it.
And for anybody who has been waiting, then join the game because it's as great as it gets.
