ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN release date announced for January 18th

Gamescom 2018 marks the end of the wait for all pilots eager to take to the skies again! ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN launches on January 18th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on February 1st on PC Digital via STEAM.

The universe of the game is composed of real-world current and near-future weapons but is steeped in Ace Combat lore. Set on the same Usean continent as in Ace Combat 3 and Ace Combat 4, the story revolves around the Second Usean Continental War taking place in the year 2019, following an attack by an army of pilotless jets. Players will find themselves part of the Penitentiary Unit, a military force formed entirely of criminals – and therefore disposable – who have been tasked with defending against this new threat.

New futuristic superweapons and many planes like the F-14D Super Tomcat and the F-104C Starfighter will be available to take part in the deadly aerial ballet.

To complete their missions, players will need to incorporate the highly detailed scenery into their strategy and deal with meteorological events: lightning strikes or icing may cause system problems and restricted visibility. The game also includes details such as water droplets on the canopy.

For further immersion into the world of ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe will be releasing two new branded flight sticks: the T.Flight Hotas 4 ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN Edition by Thrustmaster for PS4 and Xbox One and the ACE COMBAT 7 HOTAS Flight Stick for PS4 from HORI.

Get ready for take-off on January 18th for PS4 and Xbox One and on February 1st for PC Digital.
