As TEKKEN™8 release date gets closer, discover Victor Chevalier, a completely new character from France joining the game’s roster.
Victor Chevalier is a living legend who founded the UN’s independent forces. Descended from a lineage of distinguished knights, with a dream to rescue those in need. He followed the footsteps of his father and enlisted in the French Navy before joining the UN following his will to save more people.
As he felt the world was being on the brink of being taken over by a corporate giant, he founded and trained the Raven Force, armed forces that have the authority to act at their own discretion to counter the corporation's private armed forces.
Armed with an haute couture suit and the latest optical weapons, Victor takes up the mantle as leader of the UN forces, commands of his new forces and readies himself for the fight.
Victor Chevalier is voiced by famous French actor Vincent Cassel. He broke out in the 1995’s Hate, before appearing in movies such as Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, Mesrine, Eastern Promises, Black Swan or It’s Only the End of the World. Cassel is a long-time TEKKEN player and the character of Victor Chevalier is the first time that he has been involved in creating the voice of a video game character.
“I’ve discovered TEKKEN in the 1990s and I’ve really started picking it up when Eddy Gordo was introduced. He was doing capoeira and back then, so did I, so I was only playing with him”, said Vincent Cassel. “What I like about Victor Chevalier is the fact that it’s a French character in such an internationally known game. In addition to that he is very sophisticated and promotes, through how he is and how he dresses, a certain idea of the French elegance. This, and the fact that I had been called to voice Victor lead me to be interested in the character.”

« J'ai découvert TEKKEN dans les années 1990 et je me suis intéressé à ce jeu-là en particulier car parmi les personnages, il y avait Eddy Gordo un capoeriste et à l'époque, je faisais moi-même de la capoeira donc je jouais exclusivement avec lui. Ce qui me plait dans le personnage de Victor Chevalier, c’est d'abord le fait qu’il soit français dans un jeu aussi internationalement reconnu. En plus de ça, il est très élégant et j'ai l'impression qu’il colporte, à travers sa manière d'être et de s'habiller, une certaine idée de l'élégance française, donc forcément ça m'a attiré, plus le fait qu'on m'ait appelé pour le faire, ça m'a flatté. » confie Vincent Cassel.
