His culture and his speech mannerisms are different because he originates from a village far, far away.

This seems to bother him quite a bit. He was working and living in the restaurant in Shinju Village. During that time, he helped season the dishes, which in turn made him very skilled in cooking.

His strong hatred for the Magaori is why he decided to take part in this journey.
