Bandai Namco Entertainment is inviting players to defend Shinju Village against the evil Magatsu and his minions, in TOWA AND THE GUARDIANS OF THE SACRED TREE, a 2D isometric roguelite.
The game is set to launch on 19 September 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Combat mechanics in 3 steps
STEP 1 - Select 2 out of the 4 Available Characters. You will need to select a main character Tsurugi and a support character Kagura.
STEP 2 - Once you select your Tsurugi and Kagura, please run across the bridge on the right.
STEP 3 - Go through the purple portal after completing the control tutorials.
Going in a Dungeon
When going into the dungeon, you must select two characters who will take on the special roles of “Tsuguri” and “Kagura.”
Tsurugi
Vanguard of the Guardian who wields the Sword of Ablution. The sword is imbued with Shinju's blessing, giving it the power to vanquish Magatsu's followers.
Kagura
Name for the Guardian entrusted with the Staff of Divination to purify corruption. They provide support to the Tsurugi. The Kagura is also tasked with purging land of dark miasma.

Blacksmith
Forge a new sword, dismantle an old one, or change what you have equipped.
Character you’ll meet: Tanzo
Despite his large, calloused hands, no one has a more delicate touch than Tanzo. He looks after the children of the village and feeds anyone who is hungry.
When you obtain Tama Steel from dungeons and other locations, you can craft swords. The parameters of the sword are determined during the crafting process, and the finished sword can be used in battle.
- Decide the shape of the sword on the blueprint screen.
Dojo
Enhance the abilities of the Prayer Children and change their equipment. Unlock and equip spells.
Character you’ll meet: Futo
The second master and caretaker of Eternal Flame Dojo. He's the disciplined, straight-as-an-arrow type who gets onto me for sleeping too much and training too little.
Plus, he doesn't even crack a smile when I tell him jokes. But there's more to him than meets the eye.
