TEKKEN is one of my favorite games—I used to play as Xiaoyu and Lili all the time, staying up until dawn playing with friends.

I was so happy to be able to work on a project related to TEKKEN this time, and to get a sneak peek at this exciting new development—the anime adaptation!

I hope the commercial helps share the excitement for this new TEKKEN world with everyone!

The “TEKKEN” series is a 3D fighting game series that began with an arcade game in 1994 and has continued to this day, primarily on arcade and home consoles.

With cumulative sales of over 61 million units, the series has enjoyed support for over 30 years from a wide range of fans worldwide—primarily men in their late teens through their 40s—thanks not only to the deep strategic depth inherent in fighting games but also to the exhilarating and satisfying feeling of landing a move.

Furthermore, the series’ global popularity is underpinned by its focus on the father-son rivalry within the Mishima family, as well as the diverse cast of characters inspired by various countries that appear throughout the series.

Furthermore, the series enjoys immense popularity in official tournaments held around the world and in the esports scene, having fostered a player community for many years as a highly competitive title.

In August 2017, the series was recognized by Guinness World Records® as the “Longest-Running 3D Fighting Video Game Series” and for having the “Longest-Running Video Game Storyline.

The IP has also been widely expanded into a full-length CG feature film and pachinko and pachislot machines.
