The game starts with the walls beginning to merge between Svart ALfheim – the interface accessible through the Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game in Sword Art Online – and the Accelerated World– an Augmented Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Fighting Game. Amidst the confusion, Kirito and Asuna lose sight of Yui as they are attacked by Black Lotus. They soon realize that they must set out into this new, shifting Virtual Reality to save Yui, at all costs.
Play with Kirito, Asuna, Yuuki, Leafa, or any number of classic SAO characters in a setting where the Accelerated and Virtual worlds intersect. Challenge Black Lotus, Silver Crow, Scarlet Rain, and the rest of the Seven Kings of Pure Color from the Accelerated World, and amass clues as to where to find your friend. Fight to save her and the world as you know it, using the Ground-Sky Active Change Battle system from the SAO franchise, where you can pick groups of three characters to form the ultimate elite. Mix and match characters from both Accel World and Swords Art Online, and switch between them in real-time adrenaline-filled battles.
Take to the skies with ALO characters to rain down aerial attacks on unwitting opponents, use Magic to keep the upper hand, and swap between Weapons depending on your target. Choose your favorite Burst Linkers and Accelerate to catch the enemy by surprise, or High Jump for gravity-defying fight scenes in mid-air.

The main story offers 30 hours of intense gameplay in Single-Player mode, making for a well-rounded solo adventure. But Accel World VS. Sword Art Online doesn't stop there!
