1. A brief introduction – how/when did you start cosplay?
Hi ! I'm Nysen, a cosplayer from the North of France. I started wearing a cosplay almost 10 years ago, but I really fell into cosplay in 2014. The first costumes I've made were inspired by the Steampunk aesthetic, and through the years I began to make more video game cosplays as a hobby.
2. What do you like about Scarlet Nexus?
I really fell in love with the world created for the game. The first images posted on the internet caught my attention very quickly, and I surprised myself looking for more stuff almost every day. The appearance of the Others was a total blast for me (I'm still debating with myself to create a Vase Paws or not).
3. Why did you choose this character?
How can I say that I reaaally see myself in Arashi without being seen as a slacker ? She's really cute, I love the duality of her personality and I also love the characters who have a unique weapon. In fact, I think she simply has everything I love to cosplay !
4. Can you describe your costume creation process?
I always start by saving the most pictures of the costume I want to make. The cosplay guide posted on the website was really helpful for this step ! With this, I started to pattern and sew each part of the outfit : the skirt, the high socks, gloves, and finally the jacket. When I am tired of sewing, I switch to props making ! The headset and all the yellow parts of the wires were made in between. I am ashamed to admit that I have made the shoes at the end, because almost nobody look at the shoes of a cosplayer !
5. Which was the easiest/hardest piece to create?
The easiest part of the costume was the skirt ! It is in fact the first part I have entirely finished to cheer me up.
The hardest was her weapon, which I haven't finished yet. There are a lot of small part and details which are really time consuming ! Additionally the headset was a tricky part, because it ended being way too heavy to stay right on my head.
