Released on 4th April 2019, the new Update Patch 2.03 includes the following updates to improve the player experience.
Update Patch 2.03 Changelist
PLAYABLE CHARACTER ROTATIONS
This patch marks the launch of the new “Playable Character Rotation” feature, which will unlock different champions each week for Free Trial users to try out! Starting today (04 April, 2019), players using the Free Trial can battle against other Trial users and owners of the full game using a limited roster of characters whose lineup changes every week.
In addition to the starting four characters (Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno and Yamato) who are permanently available, a few additional characters will be selected from the remaining pool of 25 (16 base + 9 DLC characters) and temporarily unlocked for play.
TRAINING POINT ADJUSTMENT
The following characters have had their necessary Training Points adjusted, making it easier to unlock their skills.
- Naruto Uzumaki
- Sasuke Uchiha
- Sakura Haruno
- Yamato
RULE BALANCE UPDATE
The following rules have been adjusted to improve the player’s experience.
Barrier Battle
Boss health has been lowered from 7000 to 6000.
Ninja World League Grade Point Adjustment
The amount of Grade Points that players earn when playing Ninja World League has been increased.
Increased Ninja Ranks
Additional Ninja Ranks have been added, increasing the maximum from 15 to 20. Take to battle and aim for even greater heights!
UI Adjustments
The in-game UI has been adjusted as below to improve clarity and visibility.
- The player’s character is now more clearly visible when overlapped with an active “C2 Dragon”.
- The player’s character is now more clearly visible when overlapped with an active “Shikigami Dance: Shield”
- The player’s character is now more clearly visible when overlapped with an active “Earth Style: Mud Wall Jutsu”
- The player’s character is now more clearly visible when overlapped with an active “Wood Style: Domed Wall”
Result Screen Improvements
The Match Result Screen has been adjusted to make it easier to understand what rewards the player has received.
Game Map Intro Adjustments
An intro has been added to the Night version of the Chunin Exam Stadium.
Ninjutsu, Secret Technique Balancing
To increase the number of viable jutsu options for players to use and the variety of battles players can enjoy, a number of ninjutsu and secret techniques have had their numbers and mechanics tweaked.

Boruto Strike
- Improved the reliability to hit an enemy.
[RANGED]
Angelic Advent
- Increased movement speed while active.
Super Beast Scroll (Bird)
- New effect: places an “Ink Obstruction” debuff on an enemy when hit.
[DEFENSE]
Earth Style: Petrifying Jutsu
- New effect: recovers player’s health when activated.
Partial Expansion Jutsu
- Can now be cancelled by the player with certain actions after activation.
Sage Mode
- Increased the amount of Secret Technique gauge necessary to activate.
Uchiha Flame Formation
- Increased cooldown time.

Cherry Blossom Clash
- Can now be cancelled by the player with certain actions after activation.
Crimson Drizzle
- Can now be cancelled by the player with certain actions after activation.
Heavenly Foot of Pain
- Can now be cancelled by the player with certain actions after activation.
Summoning: Slug
- New effect: now removes negative status ailments on allies when activated.
Slug: Long-Distance Healing
- New effect: now removes negative status ailments on allies when activated.
- New effect: now applies a buff to allies when activated increasing their defense.
- Decreased the amount of Secret Technique gauge necessary to activate.
Feather Illusion Jutsu
- Increased the amount of Secret Technique gauge necessary to activate.
