Fans of the Budokai Tenkaichi series rejoiced when DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO finally launched with more than 180 characters on day one, a figure that quickly surpassed 200 after a year of updates and special events!

Now, the Sparking! ZERO team is raising the bar again with Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC, a massive new Sparking! ZERO DLC coming July 30^th, 2026.

This update introduces the game's most ambitious single-player experience to date, the Limit-Breaker Journey Mode!

At the beginning of a Limit-Breaker Journey run, players select a character from their roster and embark on a new adventure across an interactive world map dotted with randomized challenges.

Traveling to each destination costs a certain amount of stamina, and destinations can present different opportunities like one-on-one battles, events, and battles under special conditions.

Every decision matters, as your run will end if you take on a challenge too great and lose your battle. Limit-Breaker Journey mode encourages experimentation and repeated playthroughs, giving fans a fresh way to engage with characters they have used in standard battles hundreds of times before.

Progression forms the core of the experience. By completing battles and events, players earn experience points that strengthen their chosen fighter.

As characters grow, they gain access to additional customization options like making the aura bigger and stat improvements, allowing them to evolve far beyond their default capabilities.

Instead of every Goku or Vegeta feeling identical, players can specialize their builds according to personal preferences, emphasizing offense, defense, ki management, or other key attributes.

The result is an RPG-inspired progression system fused with the explosive arena combat that defines Sparking! ZERO.

One of the most important additions in Limit-Breaker Journey is the introduction of Battle Arts. These special enhancements are earned through unique encounters and the number of Battle Arts you can equip is increased when the SP increased.

Battle Arts provide powerful bonuses, such as strengthening ki attacks, improving performance during Sparking! Mode, or granting other combat advantages.

You can only equip a limited number of Battle Arts at once, so you'll need to make choices regarding how your fighter develops.

This adds a layer of strategy outside combat, encouraging players to think carefully about how they want their character to perform in battle. Battle Arts can be obtained randomly so play repeatedly to challenge yourself to find your best Battle Arts!

Training doesn't stop at selecting skills. As characters accumulate SP and level up, players receive stat points that can be distributed across six different attributes. This gives every run a distinct flavor.

For example, a glass-cannon build might focus on devastating attack power, while a defensive approach could create a resilient fighter capable of surviving lengthy encounters.

By combining stat allocation with Battle Arts, players can craft highly specialized versions of their favorite Dragon Ball heroes and villains!

The mode also introduces a variety of unique events and objectives. During a journey, players may discover Dragon Balls, encounter powerful rivals, or unlock hidden battles that only appear when specific conditions have been met. These surprises help each run feel dynamic and unpredictable.

Even after completing a journey, players can return with the same character to continue training and pursue stronger builds.

The most exciting aspect of Limit-Breaker Journey is that progression extends beyond the mode itself. Characters trained through the system can be brought into offline matches and player-versus-player battles, allowing you to showcase the results of your investment and test your skills against other earthlings!
