In Code Vein, you generally explore the world together with a partner character, but it is also possible to venture out alone.
While at the base, you can talk to your partner and ask them to stop accompanying you.
If you then leave the base, you will be able to go exploring by yourself.
Of course, you will no longer receive the support of Gifts such as Restorative Offering, which means even a momentary misstep could spell disaster...
I would recommend this for players seeking a greater thrill, or for those who want to complete the game on a harder difficulty.
