There, a phenomenon called ""the Resurgence"" is causing deformations in various things, and the ""Luna Rapacis"" is causing revenants turn into Horrors; both these things seemingly leading to the destruction of the world.
The protagonist, a Revenant Hunter capable of fighting these horrors, dies during one of their missions.
A revenant girl named Lou saves the protagonist by sharing her heart with them.
Lou also has the power to travel through time, and with it, the protagonist travels 100 years into the past to save the world from destruction.
In addition to Lou, the protagonist will encounter various revenants both in the past and in the present.
