What is Code Vein II ?

Code Vein II 2 is a next-gen action RPG that builds on the original with deeper combat, expanded Blood Systems and smarter partners.

Levels are more vertical and interconnected, offering stealth routes, elevated positions for ranged attacks and direct combat paths. Boss encounters use multi-phase patterns to ramp up the intensity and stakes for players.

Combat System

Code Vein II refines its core combat with smoother movement, clearer timing and a stronger focus on Ichor management.

MagMell Island

Once home to a Forma Institute, this isolated island now serves as MagMell’s base, where the Hunter protagonist awakens after losing their life during a mission.

The Sunken City

Once a dangerous area where potent acid erupted from the earth's surface. Pioneers gathered in search of precious energy resources, carving out the valley.
 

Ravaged by repeated Resurgence outbreaks, its polluted waters have turned all residents into Horrors, making it uninhabitable for humans.

The Undead Forest

Former site of the Asturias family’s sanatorium, now a withered, haunted forest where Specters of Horror and Revenants roam.

Yes. Players can easily change their Blood Code, Boosters, Weapons… etc, in the menu. 
 
How do Blood Codes, Formae, boosters and traits affect playstyle variety ?▼
Blood Codes define your core identity, Formae shape active abilities, and traits modify passive strengths along with boosters. The combination allows for tank, caster, agility, hybrid or stance-based builds.

Yes. Traversal points are highlighted, maps are more intuitive, shortcuts are better placed and multi-level environments offer several routes to the same objective. You can also fast travel by using Mistles.

After clearing the main story, you can start a New Game+ with your character stats carried over.

There is no story connection to the previous title.

This title is set in a different world from the previous game and features a standalone story, so you can fully enjoy it without having played the previous title.

After starting the main story, you can change your appearance at the dresser located in the Hot Spring facility at your base.

You cannot change your player name after starting the main story.

You can save your current character design via 'Save/Delete Appearance Data' on the character customization screen. Saved appearances can be loaded for other characters as well. However, there is no feature to share these designs on social media.
 
Can I upgrade my Partner ?▼
You can increase your Partner's attack power by upgrading your Jail. Additionally, raising your affinity with them unlocks new passive bonuses while they are accompanying you.
 
Can I switch my Partner's summoning or assimilation status at any time ?▼
You can switch at any time. However, some Partners cannot be summoned and can only be used in the 'Assimilated' state.
 
Where can I claim the Ultimate Edition and Deluxe Edition bonuses in-game ?▼
Costumes and accessories are added automatically in character customization. Bonus equipment can be purchased at the weapon shop in the base 'MagMell'. The DLC 'Mask of Idris' will be released at a later date.
 
Can I upgrade to the Deluxe Edition after purchasing the Standard Edition ?▼
By purchasing the Deluxe Bundle or Ultimate Content Bundle, you can obtain the content for each edition.
 
When will the second weapon become available ?▼
You can unlock it by upgrading any Jail to +11.
 
I'm stuck and can't beat a boss... how can I get stronger ?▼
Strengthen your character and Partner by leveling up, enhancing weapons, Jails, and Formae, improving Regeneration with Golden Nectar and Blood Beads, and increasing Partner affinity.
 
Can Partners become incapacitated ?▼
Partners do not die, but they may become temporarily incapacitated after reviving the player. They automatically recover after some time.
 
I want to travel with a specific Partner, but they aren't available at the Mistletoe.▼
Partners can only be summoned within their own timeline and may become unavailable due to story progression.
 
How do I increase my Blood Code proficiency ?▼
Defeat enemies that match the strength of your Blood Code. Weaker enemies give reduced proficiency gains.
 
What should I do to acquire powerful Blood Codes ?▼
Maximize proficiency of Partner Blood Codes and speak to the character, or defeat powerful enemies.
 
Can I re-watch cutscenes ?▼
Cutscenes can be viewed from the bookshelf in 'The Confluence' accessed via 'Talk to Lou' at the Mistle.
 
What does 'Load Previous State' mean on the LOAD screen ?▼
It allows you to resume the game from one of the recent auto-saves triggered when touching a Mistle.
